Tenovir 300mg

Indications:
• For the treatment of adult patients with chronic hepatitis B.
• For the treatment of adult patients with HIV infection.
Strength:
• The recommended dose for the treatment of adult patients with chronic hepatitis B is: 300mg/day, after meals.
• For patients with HBeAg (+) chronic hepatitis B without cirrhosis: The drug should be taken for a minimum of 6-12 months or until HBe reactivation occurs (HBeAg negative (-), HBV NDA negative, antiHBe detected) or the virus is confirmed to be inactive; ALT and viral load should be monitored regularly and the drug should be discontinued if treatment is ineffective.
• Patients with chronic hepatitis B HBeAg (-) and cirrhosis: The drug should be taken until HBs seroconversion or confirmation of non-invasiveness. Regular evaluation of treatment results for patients who have been taking the drug for more than 2 years should be performed to determine whether the drug is satisfactory.
• For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment: No dose adjustment is necessary (creatinine clearance 50-80ml/min). The details are as follows:
Drug strength: 300mg
Creatinine clearance (ml/min)a:
- ≥50 : every 24 hours
- 30-49 : every 48 hours
- 10-29 : every 72-96 hours
Hemodialysis patients: every 7 days or after dialysis b for about 12 hours
Side effects of the drug: Generally, it causes digestive disorders such as diarrhea, nausea, and anorexia; Causes increased blood amylase, low blood phosphate, skin rash, headache, dizziness, stress, insomnia, excessive sweating, muscle pain,
Increased blood triglyceride levels, high blood sugar, low neutrophil white blood cells, kidney failure, there are some reports of this drug being associated with inhibition of Nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor.Packaging: Tenovir Tablets 300mg = 1x30’s

Pre- and post-treatment precautions:
1. Confirm infection.
2. Check liver function tests.
3. Check viral load before starting the drug and check. Follow up every 3 to 6 months after taking the drug.
4. Check for HBeAg (+) or (-) to plan the appropriate duration of medication.
5. Check kidney function before taking the medication and after taking the medication every 3 months.
