Vaptor (Rosuvastatin) 5mg, 10mg & 20mg Tablets
Classified as: Statin.
Indications: Used to lower blood lipids such as: Total-C; LDL-C and Triglycerides,
Helps increase HDL-C.
Strengths:
• Can be taken before or after meals (before bedtime), the strength of use is between 5-40mg/day. 
• The starting strength is 10mg/day, while the 5mg strength is mainly used in patients with not very high LDL-C levels and is used in patients with muscle problems (muscle weakness, muscle fatigue)
• The 20mg strength is used in patients with very high blood lipids and want to reduce fat in a short period of time and can be increased to 40mg/day. 
• For Asians, the appropriate strength is from 5mg/day-20mg/day.
Note: Patients should be re-checked for lipid levels after 2-4 weeks of use.
Side effects: Common: Headache, dizziness, abdominal distension, muscle pain, itching and skin rash. Rare: Swelling (angioedema), joint pain, increased Transaminase levels.
Contraindications:
• Patients with a history of allergy to any of the components of this drug,
• Do not use in pregnant women, breastfeeding women, severe renal impairment (Creatinine Clearance <30ml\min). 
• 40mg strength is not recommended for patients with muscle fiber degeneration, myoglobinuria
